  The Discovery Days filmmakers formally meet for the first time and present their projects under the guidance of Jeff Stockwell, screenwriter and expert, who will give initial feedback on stories and pitches, and moderate a discussion amongst the group. Approximately 30 minutes per project.

  RIVIERA participated at the 6th Discovery Days (formerly known as IPDF)

Friday, May 30

• ONE-ON-ONE MEETINGS – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, @Landmark Theatres Sunset (Closed event)
  The filmmakers will pitch their projects to our film experts in one-on-one meetings. A great chance to get feedback on their presentation and projects from experienced industry professionals who will meet with filmmaker(s) from each team.
• SCREENPLAY FEEDBACK – 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm, @Landmark Theatres Sunset (Closed event)
  Screenwriting experts, who will have read the material in advance, dedicate this afternoon to meeting with the Discovery Days filmmakers for an in-depth discussion of their work.

Saturday, May 31

• LAGFF FILMMAKER BRUNCH – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, @Landmark Theatres Sunset
• WORKSHOP: Visual / Storytelling Strategies for Crafting Your Pitch – 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, @Landmark Theatres Sunset (Closed event)
  Under the guidance of the Discovery Days team and an invited expert, we review a variety of visual and storytelling based strategies for honing the filmmakers’ pitches in advance of the final presentations.

Sunday, June 1

• TECHNICAL REHEARSAL – 9:00 am – 10:00 am, @Landmark Theatres Sunset
• DISCOVERY DAYS FINAL PRESENTATIONS – 10:30 am – 2:00 pm, @Landmark Theatres Sunset
  The final presentations are the culmination of our intensive 4-day workshop. The Discovery Days filmmakers, having gathered feedback and advice, present their projects to a jury of leading industry professionals specializing in international independent cinema. Each presentation will last approximately 25 minutes, including feedback and discussion. The jury will determine the winner of the Discovery Days award which will be announced at the LAGFF closing night ceremony.
