Dimitris Armenakis is an animation director based in Athens. In 2017 he graduated from Audiovisual Arts of Ionian University and in 2019 he graduated from MA Animation at the Royal College of Art. Since then, he has been working as a freelance animation director for commercials, music videos, short films and documentaries. In 2021 he was awarded by ARTWORKS and he is a fellow of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Support Program. In 2025 his latest short animated film, The Synthetic Age, produced by Frenel and supported by Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Center, premiered at Annecy International Animation Film Festival and has since been screened at more than 30 film festivals worldwide, where it received the award for Best Greek Film at Thessaloniki Animation Festival.
