Prespa Lakes Two Drops in a Waterworld

The municipality “Prespa” is geographically located in the north-west of Greece and borders Albania and North Macedonia. A special value ecosystem of great global importance consisting of small and large Prespa Lake with a multitude of rare animals and more than 1,500 plant species. Prespes is home to the largest colony of silver pelican in the world, making it one of the most important habitats in Europe. “Prespa” belongs to Life – Natura 2000, a coherent network of environmental protection areas of the European Union, as well as to the Ramsar Convention, which includes wetlands of international importance.
