Receptions

food comes first, morals follow on.

A comic tragedy about an obscure but uncompromising 60-year-old jobless journalist, who would rather starve to death than betray his principles -yet finds himself the leader of a clan of freeloaders, who sneak into Athenian receptions, in order to fill their gut with free food.

Filippos Tsitos’ first feature “Home Sweet Home” was selected for the 2001 Berlinale (Official Competition). His second, “Plato’s Academy” (2009) garnered the Best Male Actor Award at Locarno Festival. Filippos Tsitos “Unfair world” (2011) won Best Director and Best Male Actor prizes at San Sebastian IFF. Since 2000 he has directed 3 feature films, approx. 70 TV-movies for the German television and several TV-commercials.
