An “antihero” is a main character in a story who lacks conventional heroic qualities. In this documentary, an unusual group of antiheroes–young people with disabilities–are trained to put on a theatrical performance based on improvised scenes about superheroes. The story of the performance is interwoven with scenes of their daily lives.

About the director
Yannis Bletas has written and directed multiple award-winning movies, including short films and the feature-length documentary Rigors, and he has also directed music videos and commercials. “How to Train an Antihero” was produced in cooperation with the Association of Parents, Guardians and Friends of people with Autism in Rethymno.
