Aliki is a writer, director, and producer behind a diverse filmography of Cyprus, Greece, and international co-productions. She studied film at the University of Southern California and the New York University Tisch School of the Arts, graduating with Honors BFA distinction. At 23, she wrote, directed and produced ROADS AND ORANGES (DROMOI KAI PORTOKALIA, 1996), one of the earliest independent features made in Cyprus and the first feature directed by a woman in the country, marking an important moment in the emergence of Cypriot cinema.
Her films include KARAVANSARAI (1998), BAR (2003), CHINATOWN – THE THREE SHELTERS (2018), and TOGETHER APART (2025), exploring identity, displacement, and the fragility of human relationships.
She holds postgraduate studies in philosophy at The New School for Social Research as a Fulbright scholar. She has taught film and theatre, served on international film festival juries, and is a member of the Hellenic Film Academy, the Cyprus Directors Guild, and the European Writers Desk. She maintains a parallel practice in theatre and performance as a director and lighting designer, extending her cinematic language across disciplines.
She is currently completing her fifth feature EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN, adapted from the award-winning novel by Ivi Meleagrou, tracing a woman’s journey toward independence in 1960s Cyprus.
