Ranw Aso-Rashid is the CEO/Founder of AR Studios. He is an award-winning science teacher and filmmaker. AR Studios builds on years of his work providing over 130 underrepresented students with paid roles, mentorship, and work experience across two continents. The studio’s films have earned BIFA qualification, awards and nominations at BAFTA- and BIFA-qualifying festivals, with streaming releases on Amazon Prime (ShortsTV), MYM Media, and Minute Shorts.
The company’s 2025-26 slate spans six active productions, including two confidential titles across two continents. Its debut feature documentary The Lost Photography of Kurdistan — a large-budget international co-production executive produced by BAFTA nominee Clare Richards — has begun filming. This slate also includes major sci-fi film and series Project Helios in partnership with Epic Studios.
In 2025, AR Studios launched the AR Studios Filmmakers’ Network, a curated global initiative connecting elite creative and technical talent in cinema and television.
