Two-time Academy Award-nominated cinematographer and Independent film director Phedon Papamichael was born in Athens, Greece. He is credited with over fifty feature films as Director of Photography, with five films nominated for Academy Award Best Picture, including Unstrung Heroes (dir: Diane Keaton), The Million Dollar Hotel (dir: Wim Wenders), Walk the Line (dir: James Mangold), Pursuit Of Happiness, The Ides of March (dir: George Clooney), Sideways, The Descendants, and Nebraska (dir: Alexander Payne). His most recent feature, The Trial of The Chicago 7, was honored with six Academy Award Nominations, including Best Picture and Best Cinematography. Phedon recently completed production on Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, starring Harrison Ford.
Phedon has had his work screened and awarded at over 30 international film festivals, received multiple BAFTA and ASC nominations, and won the BSC Award. His latest directorial endeavor is the socio-political drama Light Falls, which is shot in Greece and is a Georgian, Greek, and Albanian co-production.
