Ioakim Mylonas studied communication and cinema at Anglia Polytechnic University in Cambridge and earned a master’s in directing at the Northern Film School in Leeds. He is the artistic director of the Cyprus International Short Film Festival, and a member of the Cyprus Directors’ Union and the European Film Academy. He has directed four short films: “Chronos,” “Oedipus,” “Greenhouse,” and “Pharmakon,” which was the first Cypriot selection at the Venice Film Festival. Detached House is his debut feature film.
