Discovery Days Awards 2024

The awards were presented by Discovery Days team, Director Araceli Lemos and producers Joel Garber and Karina Logothetis.

We were impressed by the filmmakers' bravery in tackling deeply personal subjects and presenting stories with strong cinematic vision. During the four days of the lab, we watched the stories solidify, the visions clarify and the filmmakers get empowered in sharing them.

Nearby Faraway is a fresh and unique take on a frequently explored subject. With astute clarity of vision and strong, complex characters the film presents layered themes in a compelling, social and historical context.
