The Athonite ritual of the Epitaph is observed only in Skiathos, except for Mount Athos. It is a spiritual experience that lights up the human soul just like the lit candles do when they escort the ‘holy Epitaph’. About the director
Panagiotis Kountouras is an awarded director, writer & Talents Sarajevo alumni, know for his short film IVAN and the documentary feature film MAUTHAUSEN. He graduated with honors from Film Studies Department (AUTH) and UOWM Med in Script Writing for Film & Television. His work mainly focuses on human behavior and reveals ubiquitous absence, diversity and solitude. He has directed more than 100 documentary episodes for Public Television of Greece.
