The Promotion (Exelixi)

It is 2012. Nikos lives in Athens. He is a film director who teaches film direction at the University of Thessaloniki. Today, he will ask his father, Mr. Andrikos, to accompany him to the swearing-in ceremony for his promotion at the University. A father-son train journey ensues, with time running backward.

Periklis Choursoglou was born in Athens and studied mathematics and film. He worked as an assistant director alongside Pantelis Voulgaris and has taught in the film department at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the State Theatre of Northern Greece Drama School, and Peiraikos Syndesmos Drama School since 2004. In 2011, he wrote and directed a 13-episode documentary series, “I Met Happy Craftsmen,” which broadcasted on the Greek Television channel ET1. His films have distinguished themselves at festivals internationally.
