Persephone

A Greek-Japanese Cine-Operetta, where the ancient Greek myth of the Abduction of Persephone comes alive before the eyes of a Japanese group, as the arrival of a stranger man forces the family members of the hostel ‘Persephone’ to identify themselves with the fate of the mythological heroes.

About the director

Costas Athousakis was born in 1975 in Chania, Greece. He studied Film Directing in Stavrakos Film School and since then has lived in Athens. He worked as an assistant director on several feature films and directed the shorts ‘Surele’ (1999, 16’), ‘The Return’ (2005, 11′) and ‘Spinalonga’ (2007, 20′). Persephone is his debut feature film as a director and producer.
