

George Pelecanos Masterclass
Are you an aspiring or emerging filmmaker? Don’t miss a unique opportunity to participate in a masterclass with Novelist, Screenwriter, Director, Producer, and Showrunner George Pelecanos at Los Angeles City College, on Sunday, June 4th, 2023. Filmmaker & Educator Joe Petricca will moderate.

Jen Vaughn is the Department Chair of Cinema and Television at Los Angeles City College. In addition to leading a department of talented faculty members, she also teaches multi-camera television production and editing courses. Professor Jen is a lifelong techie and loves to teach her students at LACC how to set up and safely operate industry standard TV studio equipment and create original content. She holds both BA and MA degrees from San Francisco State University where she spent 10 years as Lecturer in the Broadcast and Electronic Communications Arts Department. She has worked in professional live broadcasting as an Editor and Technical Director for Pac12 Networks, and Live Stream Producer for Ojai Music Festival.

The LACC Cinema and Television Department is dedicated to providing students with the technical skills and creative guidance to prepare them for professions in the entertainment industry. We grant degrees and certificates in both Cinema and Television and prepare students for transfer to four-year universities and careers in the film and television industries. Our program is housed in the HFPA Center for Cinema & Television at LACC, fully equipped with three soundstages, three computer labs for audio/video editing and color correction, production equipment, 100 seat theater, audio production suites and classrooms supporting more than 1,000 students in over 40 unique classes.
LACC is located at 855 N. Vermont Blvd (cross streets – Santa Monica & Melrose).
