Mauthausen

A poetic documentary based on a new interpretation of Mikis Theodorakis’s & Iakovos Kambanellis’s “Mauthausen Cantata” by Aristarchos Papadaniel (voice) and Aris Zervas (cello), and the original handwritten unpublished text for a film, “Travelogue to Mauthausen – May 1988” by Kambanellis, a concentration camp survivor.

Panagiotis Kountouras was born in Thessaloniki in 1991. After graduating from the School of Fine Arts – Film Studies Department (AUTH), he studied at the University of West Macedonia. His work focuses on human behavior and reveals ubiquitous absence, diversity, and solitude.

Aristarchos Papadaniel is an author, artist and visual communication designer. Awarded director/performer and co-creator of the first Greek educational animated TV series and creator of book series. Co-founder of creative studio Syllipsis and ASIFA Hellas founding member. The lastperformer of Mikis Theodorakis’s music.
