Eva Nathena’s award-winning film will screen in Los Angeles as part of its bid in the race for an Academy Award ® in the category of Best International Film, representing Greece. This is a unique opportunity to see the film on the big screen, meet the director and hear her talk about women’s issues as portrayed in her film and beyond. 

Based on Alexandros Papadiamantis’ landmark novel of the same name. Hadoula is a widow in the early 20th century on a dystopian Greek island. She has learned to survive in an extremely patriarchal society. Hadoula’s violent internal revolution soon comes forth, but as much as her faith and morals validate her actions, her transgenerational trauma follows her everywhere.
