The LAGFF 2025 Closing Night feature – ARCADIA by Yorgos Zois – was voted by the new Oscar-entry selection committee composed of 11 organizations including LAGFF, to represent Greece at the Oscars race for a Best International Film nomination. Variety has called it “A meditation on grief, an original approach around afterlife”.

The Director, Yiorgos Zois will be in attendance for the screening and Q&A.

2 Top Winners Bidding for the Short Film Oscar

 

I’M GLAD YOU’RE DEAD NOW, the Short Film Palme d’ Or winner at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, a Greek production by Fos, will run for an Oscar nomination; The director Tawfeek Barhom will be in attendance for the screening and Q&A.

NOI, the film by Neritan Zinxhiria, which received the top award at the Drama International Short Film Festival, is another strong contender for a Best Live Action Short Film Oscar nomination.

These top winners will also screen on Saturday, November 22, 1:00 pm, at The Crescent Theater.
